Welcome the spring, warm weather and refreshing sunshine by exploring the great outdoors on a Spring Wildflower Hike through the Eno River State Park.
From March 7 to May 1, enjoy a free, guided hike along the river in search of beautiful, blooming wildflowers. The Eno River is home to a large variety of blooming flowers, including hepatica and trout lily in March, Dutchman’s breeches and yellow lady slippers in April, and rhododendron and mountain laurel in May. Hikes leave at 2pm each Sunday and range in difficulty from easy to advanced. Some hikes require advanced registration, so be sure to let us know if we can schedule one for you during your weekend stay at the Arrowhead Inn.
The Eno River flows for 33 miles through Durham and Orange counties before becoming the Neuse River and emptying into Falls Lake. The State Park hold 3,900 acres of natural resources and boasts 5 public entrances throughout the two counties. Many of our guests at our North Carolina Bed and Breakfast have enjoyed paddling, fishing, hiking, biking and picnicking (with picnic baskets prepared by chef Phil!) throughout the year.
