North Carolina Museum of Art: Raleigh, NC
Saturday, April 24: 10AM – 10:30 PM
Sunday, April 25: 10AM – 5PM
The North Carolina Museum of Art broke ground in December of 2006 on an expansion project to enlarge the state’s premiere art museum. Here at the Arrowhead Inn in Durham, just a short drive from Raleigh, we are excited that the museum will re-open its doors (after what seems like decades of being closed!) with a grand opening celebration of the arts.
The weekend-long festival will include performances, lectures, hands on activities and concerts presented by local NC artists, musicians, dancers and crafts people. And best of all, all events are free!
While experiencing local performing arts culture, don’t forget to check out the museum’s collection of over 100 new art works, featuring a collection of 28 sculptures by Auguste Rodin. You can also spend the day outdoors in the museums 164 acre art park. Stay at the Arrowhead Inn in Durham, North Carolina and take along a delicious picnic lunch, lovingly prepared for you by our own chef Phil, to enjoy while you explore miles of green-way trails and the collection of large-scale, outdoor sculptures.
